Ray Jones (Company Director)

Ray, the third generation of the business, has lived in Brailsford his whole life. Ray has worked for 79 years in the family business after starting at just 15 years old.

Karen Caney (Company Director)

Karen came into the business straight from school at 16.

4th Generation of W Jones & Son, Karen qualified as an embalmer and obtained her Diploma in Funeral Directing in 1981. Karen is qualified to arrange Ecclesiastical pre-paid funeral plans.

John Caney (Company Director)

John began his career in funeral directing straight from school at 16. After marrying Karen in 1996, John came to join the family firm.

John is another of our approved Ecclesiastical pre-paid funeral planners.

Nigel

Nigel who grew up locally, joined the company in 2008. He passed his NAFD Foundation Course in Funeral Service a year later in 2009.

Nigel is also approved to arrange Ecclesiastical pre-paid funeral plans.

Luke Caney

Luke started helping out at W Jones & Son while still at school and college. Due to Covid-19, he began working for the business alongside completing his college work. Luke, 5th generation of the business, is now a full time member of the team.

Tom

Tom, after helping out part time for a couple of years during school holidays, began full time in 2022. Tom is currently working towards his NAFD FAA Certificate.
